Volunteer
CAN YOU HELP US ON OUR COMMITTEE? WE ARE LOOKING FOR A….
Social Media Volunteer – Thanks to all Marcus’s hard work, our social media has proved very popular over the past couple of years, having seen a three-fold increase in followers!
We currently run a Facebook and a Twitter account sharing what we’ve been getting up to recently, connecting with the wider Canford Heath community in a more informal and fun format.
It’s provided us some great opportunities to collaborate with other local agencies in a collective strive to make a difference on Canford Heath and help to build a greater togetherness amongst the community.
Time commitment: roughly 1 hour a week.
Newsletter Editor – Our quarterly Newsletter is an opportunity to get creative, producing some more in-depth content and articles. In the past, we’ve interviewed a local Police Community Support Officer for a Q&A feature, compiled tips on how to protect yourself and your home from crime and shared coverage from our in-person events.
Time commitment: approximately 6 hours each quarter.
Chair
As well as being a committee member, the Chair leads the committee meetings, helps Sandra, our Secretary with papers for the meetings and attends events. They liaise with other Neighbourhood Watches like the Association of Dorset Watches and generally ‘muck in’ when needed!
Time commitment: approximately 2-6 hours a month.
For more details contact Jenny or for an informal chat call Monique 07419 209 862.
Community Speedwatch
We are hoping to get a Community Speedwatch group started on Canford Heath as we know that there are concerns about speeding in certain areas on the heath. So if you would be interested in getting one started, then please let us know.
Campaigns
The national Neighbourhood Watch Network runs many campaigns and we would love to work on some of them but do not currently have the capacity to do so. If we had enough campaign volunteers we could start a campaign sub-group. Interested? Please get in touch.
